Our Technology

Rapid Acoustic Pulse (RAP) technology is the first and only technology of its kind specially engineered to safely generate high-intensity shockwaves at up to 100x per second to disrupt targeted structures in the skin at the cellular level.

It is the fastest sound technology available today in the aesthetics industry.

RAP utilizes electro-hydraulics to generate rapid, high-intensity sound waves that exert up to 10 megapascals of pressure in fractions of a microsecond. These waves pulse through the skin at 50-100 Hz, resulting in mechanical disruption to targeted structures and tissues – and do so safely and without collateral tissue damage.

Soliton’s acoustic shockwave technology offers clinicians the ability to safely and effectively improve the appearance of cellulite with no patient downtime and no anesthesia in a well-telerated procedure.  The procedure can even be performed by a member of your staff.

Soliton’s acoustic shockwave technology also offers clinicians removing tattoos the ability to safely and effectively perform multiple laser treatments in a single office visit.  As a result, using the device recently cleared by the FDA, but not yet available for sale, you can achieve successful tattoo removal in 2-3 office visits, rather than the 10 or more office visits often needed with current technology.

As presented at the 2017 ASLMS Conference, the Soliton RAP (Rapid Acoustic Pulse) Device, used in conjunction with current Q-Switched lasers, quickly removes dermal whitening and epidermal vacuoles that shield or block the vast majority of laser energy. By immediately removing this shielding, our technology will give clinicians the ability to provide repeated laser passes in a single treatment session. Soliton RAP also increases the disbursement of ink particles, making immediate repeat laser passes potentially more effective.

RAP FOR TATTOO REMOVAL

In order for tattoo removal to become an attractive and growing part of your practice, you need to be able to offer faster, more predictable outcomes at an affordable price.

Our research resulted in a breakthrough discovery of what limits the efficacy of lasers in tattoo removal.  That discovery was introduced at the 2017 ASLMS Conference  and the dramatic clinical implications were expanded at the 2017 Controversies and Conversations Symposium . The Soliton Multi-Pass treatment protocol combines your existing short-pulse laser with our RAP (Rapid Acoustic Pulse) Device, facilitating multiple Laser and Soliton treatments in a single treatment session to rapidly accelerate tattoo fading.  A tattoo that would normally require 10 or more treatment sessions over a period of 1-2 years may now be removed in just 2-3 treatment sessions.

RAP FOR CELLULITE

The RAP device is capable of selective disruption of the fibrotic septa that contribute to the appearance of cellulite.  Our RAP technology accomplishes this without ever breaking the skin.  As a completely non-invasive procedure requiring no downtime or anesthesia, this represents a new way to treat cellulite and improve the appearance of the skin.

The pivotal cellulite clinical trial enrolled and treated 67 subjects at four clinical sites, of which 56 subjects were evaluated in the results analysis.

For more information on our clinical results, see the AAD pivotal trial presentation on our investor page.

Acoustic Wave Technology

Acoustic Wave Technology

Electro-hydraulics

  • 3000 volts at 3000 amps

  • Creates audio waves from 2 to 6 MPa @ 100 Hz

Electronic wave shaping

  • Reduces electrode wear normally associated with electro-hydraulics

  • Reduces unwanted frequencies that cause heat and pain

Custom designed reflector

  • Eliminates cavitation, heat and pain

  • Non-focused, slightly diverging waves

Clinical and Human Trials

We have conducted multiple clinical trials, including human trials, conducted under IRB supervision which have been submitted to the FDA for both tattoo removal and improvement in the appearance of cellulite.

In the first half of 2021, Soliton will launch the acoustic shockwave technology (it is not currently available for sale) into domestic US, followed by international distribution and position the technology as the standard of care for tattoo removal and temporary improvement in the appearance of cellulite.
